Wrestling round-up, w/c 16th August 2021

Silas and The Baron look over the major wresting events in WWE, AEW and Impact/TNA for w/c 16th August 2021

AEW

CM Punk! See a separate post for more of that, and on Jericho and Wight.

Other than that, we had a good match for Thunder Rosa going over Penelope Ford, and a strong build for Moxley and Kingston, and the Andrade/Pac feud.

The Callis/Omega story continues to weaken, though, as it is just being pushed for too long - we get the idea that the Young Bucks are now heels, but the contrived victory over Jurassic Express was just weak in the extreme, and really should have gone the other way.

Please end it soon.

IMPACT/TNA

Christian Cage went over Omega to take the Impact title - hopefully this means we can see the end of the Omega/Callis boring story soon, it really has run out of steam, now.

Good to see victories for Decay, Madison Rayne and Ace Austin (will he beat Cage?!), too.

WWE

Who cares?

Letting Samoa Joe go, and then signing him to NXT? What is going on?

Goldberg? Yawn.

Rhea Ripley defeats Nikki, and Charlotte has "momentum" (per the WWE website)? Yawn.

Edge "pushed into a dark place"? Yawn.

And let's not bother with SummerSlam. Yawn.
